May 3rd- Discovering Meat Alternatives:
Science has proven there are many links between too much meat consumption and many of the diseases prevalent in our society. We will talk about some of the meat alternatives and we will be making a delicious gourmet Chickpea Burger. You will learn how easy it is to make a superb vegetarian meal. We will make a fabulous Broccoli salad and for dessert a Creamy Tapioca Pudding.
May 10th- Cancer-Fighting Compounds & Immune-Boosting Foods:
In this class we will talk about the important role of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and phytochemicals in fighting and preventing disease. We will start with an amazing Sweet Potato Hash with Mango Salsa that you are guaranteed to love. We will pair that with a Mushroom Stroganoff Fettuccine made with a Creamy Cashew sauce. We will finish the class with a delightful Ambrosia perfect for Spring.
May 17th- Maintaining A Healthy Weight:
In this class we will talk about some of the secrets to maintain a healthy weight. Did you know that some foods trigger your genes to store fat while other foods do the exact opposite? We will begin with a Citrus Spinach Salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette. We will then make a wonderful “Any Veggie” Coconut Curry over Quinoa. We will also bake some Low-Fat Apple Muffins and talk about sugar and oil alternatives.
