NFL HSPD PROGRAM
The NFL High School Player Development Program is a FREE 3-day football camp that focuses on character development, life skills and football fundamentals. Each participant receives a planner with information regarding concussion awareness, NCAA eligibility, social media consciousness, time management tips, and numerous other pertinent topics. In addition to discussing relevant off-field issues, the camp offers a structured, college-style practice that focuses on football fundamentals that will benefit any player, regardless of what scheme or style of football his team runs.
And by attending this program, the East Central University 7 on 7 Football Championship is included in this camp.
The National Guard has partnered with the NFL to help develop the HSPD program from its original inception in 2001. Originally, this initiative started in New York City with just four camp sites. With support from the National Guard, the program has grown to have approximately 200 camp locations in all 50 states. Guard representatives add a unique element to the character development portion of the camp and serve as a valuable resource to camp participants.
