Intended Audience: Any EIU student in need of explanation of basic navigation or review of Premiere Pro CS6.

Description:

Premiere Pro is a non-linear video editing system that is part of the Adobe CS6 Suite. It has many basic and professional applications and interfaces well with Prelude CS6, SpeedGrade CS6, and After Effects CS6.

During this training session, participants will acquire knowledge by following trainer instruction and experimenting with the program on a lab computer.

Topics:

Organizing footage; Importing clips; Trimming and arranging clips; Adding audio; Audio adjustment; Adding transitions; Adding titles; Importing still images; Exporting Premiere Pro sequence.

Objectives:

1) While opening the Premiere Pro CS6 program, the participant will create a project and set up scratch disks according to the trainer’s instruction. 2) While looking at the Premiere Pro CS6 interface, the participant will recite its eight areas without prompting. 3) Using the Import file command in Premiere Pro CS6, the participant will locate footage for use according to the trainer’s instruction. 4) While in Premiere Pro CS6, the participant will be able to reconnect lost media, according to the trainer’s instruction. 5) Using the subclip command in Premiere Pro CS6, the participant will create a subclip, according to the trainer's instruction. 6) While in Premiere Pro CS6, the participant will add a marker to selected clip, according to trainer’s instruction. 7) While in Premiere Pro CS6, the participant will add selected clips to the sequence, according to the trainer’s instruction. 8) While in Premiere Pro CS6, the participant will render the sequence for real-time playback, according to the trainer’s instruction. 9) While in Premiere Pro CS6, the participant will trim selected clips, according to the trainer’s instruction. 10) While in Premiere Pro CS6, the participant will rearrange selected clips, without assistance. 11) While in Premiere Pro CS6, the participant will create a freeze frame of the selected clip, according to the trainer’s instruction. 12) While in Premiere Pro CS6, the participant will add a secondary audio and video track, according to the trainer's instruction. 13) While in Premiere Pro CS6, the participant will create a dissolve transition, according to the trainer’s instruction. 14) While in Premiere Pro CS6, the participant will import an audio track and adjust audio mix according to the trainer’s instruction. 15) While in Premiere Pro CS6, the participant will import a .jpeg file and resize it according to the trainer’s instruction. 16) While in Premiere Pro CS6, the participant will create a stand-alone title according to the trainer’s instruction. 17) While in Premiere Pro CS6, the participant will create a lower third title over video footage, according to the trainer’s instruction. 18) Using the Export command in Premiere Pro CS6, the participant will export the sequence into a .mov file, according to the trainer’s instruction.
