This video production course will explore how the camera can be a primary means of expression for filmmakers, creating a new mode of storytelling and vision-making that is highly personal, often poetic, and potentially political. Students will incorporate their own stories and perspectives into their work and learn to shoot and edit footage into short videos. Students should bring a digital recording device that captures video and sound (digital camera, iPhone, Flip video camera, etc.) as well as a pen and notebook. Headphones and a portable hard drive (500GB or more) are also highly recommended.
