Photoshop is such an important tool in our creative culture; it’s now used as a verb! This course will bring you up to speed on basic concepts like size, resolution, file formats, and the Photoshop interface. From there we’ll look at using the program’s arsenal of tools to “photoshop” your photographs, improving contrast, exposure, color balance, retouching, and sharpness. Finally, we’ll learn how Photoshop can be an important tool in design, adding text, using layers, and layer styles. Basic experience using Mac computers is required, and students should bring their own external storage device and digital images.
