A study of the evolution of modern architecture in the 19th and 20th centuries, this lecture based course will explore the theoretical basis of significant architectural styles. Students will learn about architectural developments within the cultural, historical and social contexts of this time period. Instruction will cover significant contributions by individual architects as well as the roles technology and materials have played defining architectural boundaries.
