Through this interactive workshop, students will first explore the grounds at Cheekwood’s Botanical Garden and meet with staff for an exclusive tour of Andy Warhol’s Flowers exhibition. Day two of the workshop will be spent in the print shop at Watkins College of Art, Design & Film where students will learn the basics of silkscreen printing resulting in hand-printed posters, t-shirts and more.
Best known for his vibrant pop imagery and searing commentary on art and pop culture, Warhol’s Flowers reveals a softer, more intimate side of the artist. At Cheekwood Warhol’s artificial flower images meet the floral abundance of an actual garden. Andy Warhol’s Flowers will be open June 14-September 7 at Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art.
