Watercolor - Day Class

This class will guide you through the fresh and translucent medium of watercolor. The instructor will guide students of all levels step-by-step through the techniques and methods needed to create a successful watercolor painting. Learn how to apply washes such as wet-on-dry, wet-on-wet, graded washes, masking and brushwork texture. Students utilize these methods to create still life, landscape and portrait compositions effectively. Supply list provided in class. Approximate cost $16 - $30.

Beginning Sculpture

Explore your own style and subject while learning the basics of sculpting. For example, past students have learned the basics by creating their own creatures and characters, as well as animals, people, and abstract designs. This course is customized to you, so that we can focus on areas you are interested in. There will be dedicated one-on-one time during each session to ensure you are getting the information and help you need to work on your own special project. 

Required Items: • paddle/plane tool • loop/rake tool • brick(s) of Roma Plastilina Modeling Clay • armature wire • wood base  (12 x 12 recommended)  

Optional or Specialty items: • Detailing tool • Mat to work on • Notebook / Sketchbook for taking notes • Calipers for making volumetric measurements • Canned air for freezing clay • Reference material (photographs, books, personal mirror, etc)

Artist Christy Cole will show you fast, easy, and CHEAP ways to make your own home art.... all in the sizes and colors you have been wanting. You will learn several creative techniques using materials like canvas, paint, tape, and found objects to make beautiful conversation pieces for your home.

Jewelry Making - Basic Chainmail
Chainmail is a jewelry technique that has to be hand-made. It commands a higher price and is labor intensive. In this class you'll learn the mobius flower chain, box chain, and double know cluster, to name a few. 2 projects per class, 6 projects per session.

Learn jewelry-making techniques such as crimping, knotting, wire wrapping and chain mail, the new hot trend. Use genuine semi-precious gemstones, cultured pearls, and crystals. Each session consists of three classes. A $60 materials fee is due at the beginning of each 3-week session, payable to the instructor, which covers all needed materials to make all jewelry pieces. All tools are provided for class use, but bring your own tools if you have them. You must take a basic class before taking an intermediate class or have permission from the instructor. 
Ages 14 & up. Class limit of 12.

This class will build on the skills/weaves/techniques learned in the basic class. You'll learn a new weave each class while working on multiple projects and variations. Helm chain, Byzantine chain and Japanese chain will be covered. 2 projects per class, 6 projects per session.

Sewing - Beyond Beginning, Day Class (Focused Techniques)
