Theatre camps include training in acting, singing and dancing, inspired by the songs and stories of our Mainstage show. As the first rung in our Conservatory Track ladder, Level I camps are a great introduction to our programs and a way to build skills and confidence. The culminating performance for family and friends will take place with a live accompanist, costumes, and props.

All grade 4-6 camps run 9:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Level II theatre camps include intermediate level training in acting, singing and dancing, inspired by the songs and stories of our Mainstage show. The culminating performance for family and friends will take place on the professional set of Berkeley Playhouse's The Wiz with a live accompanist, costumes, and props.

Grade 4-7 camps run 9:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Level III theatre camps include intermediate/advanced level training in acting, singing and dancing. One camp is inspired by the songs and stories of our Mainstage production of The Wiz; the other is inspired by our KidStage production of Starmites. Each camp will culminate in two final showings for family and friends on Berkeley Playhouse's professional set with a live accompanist, costumes, and props.

Grades 4-7 camps run 9:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Berkeley Playhouse's Level 1 TheatreLabs include training in acting, singing and dancing. This TheatreLab will incorporate scenes, songs and choreography inspired by our Mainstage production of Alice in Wonderland. Level 1 Labs are the first rung in our Conservatory Track ladder, a great introduction to our programs, and a way to build skills and confidence to progress ultimately to our ticketed KidStage productions (Level 4).    Level 1 TheatreLabs meet once a week (plus one additional hour of "dress rehearsal" the week before the final showing). The culminating performance for family and friends will take place in the classroom studio with a live accompanist, as well as limited costumes, props and scenic elements.

Berkeley Playhouse's Level 2 TheatreLabs include intermediate training in acting, singing and dancing. This TheatreLab will incorporate scenes, songs and choreography inspired by our Mainstage production of Alice in Wonderland. Level 2 Labs are the second rung in our Conservatory Track ladder, the next level up from our beginner Level 1 classes and a way to continue developing skills, vocabulary and confidence to progress ultimately to our ticketed KidStage productions (Level 4). Level 2 TheatreLabs meet twice a week (plus one additional hour of "dress rehearsal" to be announced in class). The culminating performance for family and friends is a non-ticketed sharing inspired by the Mainstage show performed on the professional set in the theater. There will be a live accompanist, as well as limited costumes, props and scenic elements.

Students work as members of a youth ensemble with professional directors, choreographers, designers and performers to create a fully-produced Mainstage show.
