Heritage Practical Rifle
This course is designed for the beginning to experienced firearms enthusiast who has already purchased, or is considering their own rifle.  It consists of classroom time, with a live fire portion. Students will learn how to properly handle, store, clean and fire their rifle; as well as fire it in six different shooting positions. Range time is much more involved than the first steps class..

Student Materials:  Each student will receive a Basics of Rifle Shooting Pamphlet, Gun safety rules brochure, NRA basic firearms training program brochure, and completion certificate (Heritage Certificate)

Course Outline:  
-Rifle safety, parts and operation
-Three fundamental safe gun-handling rules
-The major rifle parts
-Safely demonstrate how to handle a rifle properly        
-Ammunition and rifle shooting fundamentals
-Determine proper ammunition for your rifle
-Three types of cartridge malfunctions
-Determine dominant eye
-Explain fundamentals of rifle shooting from the bench rest position
-Rifle shooting from the bench rest position
-Explain range commands and procedures to follow
-Discuss eight NRA rules when shooting and storing a rifle
-Safely shoot a target from the bench rest position
-Reiterate all five shooting fundamentals
-Explain fundamentals of rifle shooting from the standing position
-Safely shoot a target from the standing position
-Explain fundamentals of pistol shooting from the kneeling position
-Safely shoot a target from the kneeling position
-Explain fundamentals of rifle shooting from the sitting position
-Safely shoot a target from the sitting position
-Explain fundamentals of pistol shooting from the squatting position
-Safely shoot a target from the squatting position
-Explain fundamentals of pistol shooting from the prone position
-Safely shoot a target from the prone position
-Rifle Cleaning, Storage, and Training
-Identify materials needed to clean a rifle
-Outline safety guidelines when cleaning a rifle
-Demonstrate proper disassembly and cleaning of a rifle
-Explain how to store firearms and ammunition properly
-Identify shooting sports, activities, and further training opportunities

NRA Cartridge Reloading
NRA Cartridge Reloading

This is an excellent course for anyone wishing to get started or brush up on their reloading skills. This course consists of classroom and range time.  Students will learn how ammunition works, how to clean, prepare and then reload metallic cartridges. Students will then load their own ammuntion and fire that ammo through a chronograph on the range to see the results of their effort.  A host of reloading equipment including scales, powder measures, tumblers, single stage and progressive presses will be covered. 

Student Materials:  Students will recieve an NRA completion certificate and safety manuel as well as the NRA reloading guide book.  All ammunition reloading components and equipment are included in this course. There will be a written test at the end of this course.

-Centerfire Cartridge components
-How to properly use a reloading manual
-Tracking and using your reloading data
-Cartridge reloading equipment
-The reloading process

NRA First Steps Rifle
This course is designed for the novice firearms enthusiast who has already or is considering purchasing their own rifle.  It consists of classroom time, with a live fire portion.
