This course is designed to allow experienced welders and metal forming students to explore practical and artistic projects.

The next Clinical Medical Assistant class starts on January 28, 2013. Classes will be held on Mondays,  Wednesdays, and Fridays. This course is offered in partnership with Boston Reed College; pre-registration is required.

Participants will build upon the basic skills previously covered. Forge welding techniques will be emphasized. In addition, students will have the opportunity to craft useful tools to explore their creativity while enhancing confidence of their own skills. Please bring safety glasses, leather welding gloves, wear boots, and a long-sleeve cotton shirt and jeans. Prerequisite: Blacksmithing course or equivalent experience. Class maximum 8

Learn how to weld, braze, heat, cut, and fabricate using oxyacetylene (gas welding) and a few hand and power tools. This course will give you the techniques and confidence to create projects at home. Class maximum of 12.

The medical terminology class is for those desiring to work in the medical field as a medical assistant, medical secretary, records administration, E.M.T., transcriber, nursing aide, admissions clerk, unit secretary, court reporter or for the pre-med or pre-nursing students.  Curriculum includes basic anatomy, disease and pharmacology terms, word building, spelling, grammar, and pronunciation.

Students are able to further their wood working skills, abilities and shop safety awareness. Students are encouraged to bring a project of their own design to fit their needs and ability level or choose one of the many project ideas in class. Students may purchase wood from the instructor or purchase their own. All projects and materials are subject to approval by the instructor. Class maximum of 12.
