Adult CPR/AED Certification

This course provides hands-on training and a two-year certification approved by the American Red Cross. Attendees learn to recognize and respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies, including use of AED devices, until medical personnel arrive. (First aid training is not included.) Note: April 3, 2015 class is open ONLY to CTC faculty and staff. 




Additional Information

If classes are cancelled by UAA, you will receive a 100% refund of fees. To withdraw from a class, you must notify the CE office of your desire no later than 10 days from the start date of the class. Withdrawals will be assessed a $15 administration fee.

Adult First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

This course provides hands-on training in first aid and in CPR/AED and includes a two-year certification approved by the American Red Cross. Students will learn to recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and common first aid emergencies in adults. Plan for a short lunch break.

Boating Skills & Seamanship

This course is a comprehensive program designed for experienced and novice boaters. In interesting and lively classroom settings you’ll learn how to select the best boat for you, what equipment you need, trailering techniques, handling the boat, rules of the waterways, inland boating, weather and radio operation – PLUS more!

Paddlesports America

Canoers and kayakers are boaters too and will benefit from this exciting course to address the unique needs of this audience. This course provides information on types of boats, selecting paddles, capacity, float plans, operations, legal requirements and boating emergencies. Don’t get on the water without having this key information!

Paddlesports America is designed for beginning paddle enthusiasts or as a refresher for seasoned, but perhaps out of practice, boaters. Course includes seated class time and safety overview in a pool.

Wilderness & Remote First Aid

For outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who works or spends time in wilderness and remote environments, this course provides a foundation of first aid principles and skills to be able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate emergency medical services (EMS) response, including urban disasters, such as earthquakes and hurricanes. Must be at least 14 years old and hold current adult CPR/AED certification to take this course. Includes a two-year certification from the American Red Cross.

Lunch is on your own during a one-hour break mid-day. A refrigerator is available if you wish to bring lunch/snacks.
