Becoming an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is the first step to a rewarding career in the healthcare field. This entry-level position will also prepare you for future career opportunities as a Paramedic and Firefighter, among others. Our program is among the top rated in the State of Missouri. This training program is offered to those who desire to be licensed as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) by the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services. The EMT program is the basic level of training for the emergency care provider and leads to both state and national licensure examinations. Students will master the basic skills of emergency care through classroom training, hands-on skill training, and clinical observation both in the ER and on an ambulance. Upon successful completion of this program, students are eligible to take the National Registry Exam for certification by the State of Missouri. This course requires excellent reading, writing, and comprehension skills. An entrance exam must be passed. Students must be at least 18 years old and provide proof of a high school diploma or GED. EMT students must have a current, clear PPD test. A Missouri criminal background check will be conducted of each incoming student. Some Saturday classes will be required.
