Music Together-Mixed Ages (Birth-6 yrs)
Description
This is the essential Music Together® class, one that a child can attend from birth through age six through all nine song collections. This basic class follows the recommendations of child development researchers, grouping children of a variety of ages because this fosters natural, family-style learning. Younger children enjoy watching & imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; adults are happy because everyone can go to class together. Each child participates at his or her own level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, or exploring musical instruments. Any caregiver - parents, grandparents, nanny - can bring the children. The whole family is welcome for this family music experience. Enroll early as this class fills quickly! A lab fee of $50, payable to the instructor, is due at the first class meeting.
Early experiences with Music Together—a program which immerses the child in a rich, interactive music environment—help create the child’s mental structures for learning music. In turn, those structures help the child to develop musically, to begin to “think” music and express it accurately, and finally, to be able to store it in memory. Music Together is a world-renowned Early Childhood Music and Movement Enrichment Program for Infants, Toddlers and Preschoolers which teaches parents/caregivers how to create a rich musical learning environment in a developmentally-appropriate and non-performance oriented way. Weekly classes are lively, playful and fun for everyone. Siblings are welcome, especially infants who may attend for free if they are 8 months or under.
