This course explores the nature of poverty and its effects on child development. It provides teachers with an understanding of poverty, but more importantly, it gives them the strategies and tools they need to create an educational framework to meet the needs of impoverished students.

Spring face to face classes will be held on Zoom if there is resurgence in COVID-19.

Face masks are required on site. Social distancing and safety measures in accordance with CDC guidelines will be in place.

Carlow University will award you three (3) semester hours of graduate credit for successfully completing this course. You will receive a letter grade.

In order to receive credit from Carlow University, all participants must accurately complete all university registration forms and return them to TEI.  Grade reports can be requested from the TEI registrar’s office at the end of each semester. Course requirements include: Participation, reading assignments, written assignments, website assignments, projects and/or final exams;however, requirements may vary for each course.

*$50 Deposit is non-refundable. *Cancellations must be received two weeks prior to course start date to avoid a $50 cancellation fee (Not to be confused with the Deposit). *No refunds after the class start date. *Course fee must be paid in full 2 weeks prior to the start date to avoid a $20 late payment fee.
