Social media has become a crucial element for authors and poets in promotion and branding, finding opportunities, and fundraising.  But those new to social media may not understand what platforms are best for them and what they can do once they are up and running.  Some don't understand the benefits of social media at all while others have opened accounts but don't know what they're doing there.

This workshop will discuss a variety of social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, websites and more!  In this 3-hour one-day session participants will:
• See examples of successful social media use and artistic branding
• Learn how to manage time on social media and away from artistic practice
• Learn how to promote yourself and your works on each platform
• Learn how to connect all your platforms for the best results
• Keeping an eye open for opportunities
• Discover ways to grow a social media following
• See examples of social media use for fundraising

Participants may bring a laptop or tablet, but one is not necessary.  Materials Fee of $3 payable to the instructor in class.
