Tutor Now: Fundamentals of Adult Learning provides tutors with a foundation of how to effectively tutor adult learners.

Participants will learn how to: use learner-centered tutoring techniques, use assessment to guide instruction, help their learners set achievable goals, create lesson plans, integrate technology in instruction, and document learner progress.

About this training:

This training is completed over a three-week time period. The blended training mixes traditional face-to-face classroom facilitated workshops with self-paced online modules. The class meets face-to-face three times. In addition, volunteers are required to read material and complete assignments online by the end of the class.

Completion of all components is required to receive the Office of Education's Certificate.

*Tutor Now: Fundamentals of Adult Learning is a prerequisite for Tutor Now, GED© /HiSET© Prep.

NOTE: The Office of adult Education reserves the right to cancel a Tutor Training class when the minimum capacity (8) has not been reached.
