Tutor Training REQUIREMENTS & EXPECTATIONS
Volunteers interested in participating in the Office of Adult Education Tutor Training program must agree to the following:
•6 months of tutoring commitment (2 to 3 hours per week)
•Be at least 18 years old
•Have at least a high school diploma or a High School Equivalency Diploma (GED© or HiSET©). Some college and/or previous training is a plus.
•Have basic computer and Internet skills, with access to a reliable computer and Internet
•Must register for the training
•Must attend and complete every part of the training including the online portion
•Arrive to training on time or be no more than 30 MINUTES LATE
•For referrals to some providers, a Bachelor’s Degree may be required.
•If a training is missed, or a significant training content is missed due to lateness, early departure, or any other reason, an “incomplete” grade will be issued
Canvas Integration: This class is blended – In addition to the face to face sessions, volunteers are required to complete work online, through our virtual classroom on CANVAS©
