Moving Landscapes: Plein Air Painting With Lisa Lebofsky


This is an optional 3 weekend plein air painting workshop taught by Lisa Lebofsky. It can be taken for a single weekend, a combination of any 2 weekends, or as a 3 consecutive weekend course. (Once enrolled, we will reach out to confirm which weekend(s) you will be attending)

Join international traveler and painter Lisa Lebofsky on instructed plein air excursions around New York City. Learn color principles; composition; perspective; light and shadow; texture; various painting techniques; how to translate and imbue energy and movement into your painting; philosophical and metaphorical approaches to painting nature; and the challenges and benefits of painting outdoors. Students will learn how to paint not only a beautiful landscape, but a meaningful landscape. Possible locations include: The waterfalls of Central Park, Orchard Beach, Coney Island, Jacob Riis, and Prospect Park. In the event of heavy precipitation, class will be held indoors and students will work from a video of a moving landscape.
