Paramedic Preparatory Program

To properly assess and manage a patient, a prehospital provider must have a solid foundation in human anatomy and physiology, as well as their EMT fundamentals.  Formerly known as the Bio-130, Anatomy & Physiology for the paramedic, this paramedic assessment and selection program uses a systemic approach to building or reinforcing these foundations.

The program begins by providing an overview of the basic systems of the human body and then explores each system in detail, delivering a thorough discussion on the system's anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.  During this course, all paramedic program candidates will be assessed, remediated and prepared for entry into the Montgomery County Paramedic Program.  The culminating examination for entry into the paramedic program is the FISDAP paramedic entrance exam, administered online.

Over the course of this program, students will be assessed for eligibility and suitability for entry into the paramedic program.

Students who complete all requirements of this course and who have applied for the paramedic program will be offered an interview for entry into the upcoming class.  Those who are unsuccessful will be given a recommended course of action to prepare themselves for the paramedic program and when completed will be reassessed for their readiness into the next class.
