Curious Minds: The Human Experience of Time

Time passes. Time and tide wait for no man. Time is an important dimension of the human experience that is still poorly understood. This fascinating workshop will focus on the intersection of philosophy, physics and neuroscience to better understand the conscious experience and perception of time. Recent work in philosophy of mind and physics has yielded a number of new models concerning the human experience of time, duration, and timing of events. At the same time, research in neuroscience has been uncovering the neural mechanisms that underlie time perception and consciousness. We will also look at folk psychological metaphors such as “Time flies when we are having fun.” Curious minds, come on down!
