Pre-Apprenticeship Workshop


Join Minuteman’s Pre-Apprenticeship Workshop, sponsored by MassDOT and run by the New England Laborers' Training Trust Fund. This four-day course will provide you with an overview of the construction trades pre-apprenticeship program. Students will take a field trip to the Trade Union, a Construction Site, or the DPW, and all will partake in an American  Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED certification. Students will learn line and grade, construction math, and will learn about work zone safety. This course would  be beneficial to the student interested in civil engineering and/or the construction trades. This course is FREE to students currently in grades 9-12.

The New England Laborers’ Training Trust Fund has been awarded a contract by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to provide a one week pre-apprenticeship training program to chapter 74 schools across the commonwealth. The goal of the program is to provide information and skills training that will lead to permanent careers in the transportation and highway construction trades. This program will offer both industry specific skills and soft skills training.

Grade Range: 9 - 12

Additional Information

Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the program. 

Students must bring a bagged lunch. There are no cafeteria services provided during the duration of this program.
