Travel to the Real Cuba

Many Americans are intrigued by the thought of traveling to Cuba. Traveling to the island of Cuba has become easy and legal for many Americans. Though pure tourism is still prohibited, traveling for cultural, educational and people-to-people purposes is now permitted. Join Laura Quincy Jones, a long-time Cambridge resident and former adult education teacher who now lives in Havana, Cuba. In Cuba, Laura teaches English, paints and illustrates, and leads small cultural immersion tours through Cuba Art Adventures, for artistically minded travelers. Laura enjoys sharing what she, her Cuban family, friends and colleagues love about Cuba. She will explain how interested travelers legally initiate the process to travel to Cuba; everyday accessible cultural gems beyond the old cars and cigars; highlights visitors don’t want to miss; Cuban artwork, from museums to street murals; dance and music; and what social consciousness looks like on the ground in Havana. There will be plenty of time for Q&A during and after the presentation.
