Fall Protection - OSHA 3115


Course Description:

This course covers the OSHA Fall Protection Standards and an overview of fall protection methods. Topics covered include the principles of fall protection, the components of fall arrest systems, the limitations of fall arrest equipment, and OSHA policies regarding fall protection. Students will participate in workshops demonstrating the inspection and use of fall protection equipment, residential construction fall protection, training requirements, and developing a fall protection program. 

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify various types of fall protection equipment and arrest systems, their components and limitations
  • Recognize fall hazards and identify abatement methods
  • Proper use of fall protection equipment and fall arrest systems
  • Assess compliance with the OSHA Fall Protection standard
  • Evaluate installed passive systems/fall arrest systems
  • Develop and implement written plans

NOTE: Appropriate clothing and personal protective equipment is required for the hands-on exercise. Details will be covered in class.
