Counselor In Training

Counselor In Training Afternoon

CITs work under the supervision of Outback teachers and assist staff with daily activities, engage with children during free time and snack/lunch, and complete cleaning/organizing tasks at the beginning and end of their shifts. They are also invited to assist the program for Thursday beach trips. The most important role of a CIT is to be a positive role model and a leader for Outback children. CITs are an integral part of inspiring Outback students as well as supporting Outback staff. They have a pizza party at the end of each session to celebrate their service. Session dates and hours are listed on the application. Each Friday at Outback, the staff votes on the “Wally Cleaver Award” which is given to a CIT who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, responsibility and embodies the spirit of Outback. CITs are given unsupervised snack and lunch breaks during their shift.
