EMT (Emergency Medical Technician)

NO ONLINE REGISTRATION: Ready to take a step toward a career in the high-demand medical field? After successful completion of this course, you will be able to render basic emergency care to the sick and injured with confidence and compassion. Graduates will be well prepared for the national board examination process, a necessary requirement for EMT certification and career. This year-long 180-hour course, with an additional 24 hours of clinical observation on an ambulance.  The fee covers registration, tuition, books and uniform shirts. Students are required to buy work pants and boots. Payment by credit card or money order only.

Background Check and Prerequisites:

■ Students must pass a State background check in order to
be certified and must possess a current CPR certificate before course registration

■ Students must complete vaccinations by midterm of the EMT program.

■ Internet access is required during the course.

This course runs September through June, meets every Tuesday, and one Saturday each month.

Homecare Aide

Take your will to help others to the next level.  Train to begin working in the healthcare industry and learn to provide in-home client care for children, adults, and elderly.  You will focus on activities for daily living and self care.  Students must be able to understand, speak and write in English.  ESL students must first complee Beginning high level.

Medical Office Assistant (MOA)

NO ONLINE REGISRATION:  Students will be prepared for positions as an administrative professional in a medical office.  The MOA course includes training on multiple electronic medical record systems, front desk responsibilities, appointment scheduling, insurance billing and more. Students may begin with either Cycle A or Cycle B.  Students who successfully complete both cycles will be awarded a certificate of completion.

All students wishing to enroll in the MOA course for the first time MUST attend an orientation and pass an assessment before registering for the class.  The assessment is for typing, Microsoft Word, writing, and human relations skills.  Some candidates may be accepted on condition that they take other courses along with this course, to develop the above skills. Continuing students do not need to attend a second assessment to enroll.
