CPR/AED/First Aid (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
This course will provide you with the life saving skills in a emergency for adults, children and infants.  You will learn CPR, AED use, first aid and medical emergency skills.  This course will give you the confidence to handle most emergency situations as a first responder.  All participants will receive a two-year CPR/AED/FA card.  Limit: 12 students.

EMT (Emergency Medical Technician)

Upon successful completion of this challenging course, participants will be able to render basic emergency care to the sick and injured with confidence and compassion.  Graduates will be well prepared for the national board examination process, a necessary requirement for EMT certification and career.  This is a 180-hour course, with an additional 24 hours of clinical observation on an ambulance.

The fee covers registration, tuition, books and uniform shirts.  Students are required to buy work pants and boots.

Payment by credit card or money order only.

Background Check and Prerequisites:

Students must pass a State background check in order to be certified and must possess a current CPR certificate before course registration.  Students must complete vaccinations by midterm of the EMT program.  Internet access is required during the course.

This course runs September through June. meets every Tuesday, and one Saturday each month.

Mandatory Orientation, Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 3;15 PM in Room 21.

Medical Terminology
This course may be taken separately from the Medical Office Assistant class.  Students learn the languge that is used in most medical jobs.  This course covers word parts, body structure and function, diseases, and treatments used in many medical specialties.  All students are required to obtain the textbook and complete homework assignments.  After 18 weeks (two training cycles), students may earn a certificate.
