Certified Medical Assistant

Medical assistants provide direct patient care and perform clerical duties in physician's offices, urgent care, and other ambulatory settings. This course teaches administrative skills, EMR, clinical skills, (phlebotomy, injections, vital signs, minor surgical procedures, and more), medical terminology, and externships.

Upon completion of the course, with satisfactory grades and attendance, students may sit for the National Healthcareer Association's clinical and administrative certification exams: a $270 value at no additional cost. Externships are 160 hours are last four weeks of the class. Students must possess valid state issued identification and a recent TB test (within 12 months of the start date of externship). Prerequisite: High School Diploma or equivalency. (Completion of class does not guarantee employment.)

Class fee includes books, supplies, and NHA test fee.  Student is responsible for shoes and scrubs.

This class meets at the Golden Oak Annex Building B located at:  21445 Centre Pointe Pkwy., Santa Clarita, CA 91350. Buildings are on the left as you enter the driveway.  Parking lot is located across the street from the building location.

Certified Pharmacy Technician

This 18-week course prepares students for entry level employment working in various pharmacy settings and practices which includes:  assisting the pharmacist with mixing and packaging prescriptions, inventory control and purchasing, collecting payment, and coordinating billing.  The course contains both theory and clinical components, including:  Medical Terminology, Pharmacy Law, Anatomy and Physiology. Externships are 160 hours, Monday - Friday for an additional 4 weeks in November/December.  Students must possess valid state issued identification, and a high school diploma.  Class fee includes:  books and background check.  Class fee does not include certification exam.

Certified Phlebotomy Technician I

The Phlebotomy Technician I program prepares graduates for entry-level positions as phlebotomists in hospitals, clinics, Laboratory Service Centers and physician’s offices.

Our LFS/DHS approved CPTI programs include 48 hours of lecture and 40 hours of practical experience at nearby externship sites for students with no work experience or  “Advanced” 48 hours of lecture for students with phlebotomy experience. Upon successful completion of the program, our students will have met all of California State’s requirements to become a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I, including the completion of an approved national online examination. 

Books, materials, supplies and externship included in tuition.  Externship is scheduled upon course completion and exam taken.
