9 - Summer Course

Summer Yoga

Summer Yoga

The course is built around Patanjali’s Eight Limbs of Yoga and provides  experiential learning with a mix of classroom study of yoga principles and  actual yoga practice.

Each class will start with a chair yoga practice of 15 minutes, followed by the  study of a yoga pose from the Sun Salutation sequence, a group discussion  on the Yoga Sutras and will conclude with a short meditative practice.  Students will be encouraged to continue their practice over the week with the  observance of one Yama or Niyama.

At the end of the course, students should be able to perform the 12 poses in  the Sun Salutation sequence on their own, know the Sun Salutation mantra,  understand the core principles of Yoga and incorporate concepts of the  Yamas and Niyamas in their everyday lives.
