Meditation Preparation

Prerequisite: Early level Courses

This term’s course of study introduces students to a peaceful, healing, cleansing exercise that prepares the being to receive the mediation as given by Shantananda Saraswati.

The elements of measured living are explored in light of the teachings of Advaita.  The measure of the meditation is tried and tested.  When one first receives the mantra, one is asked to meditate for about 15 minutes twice daily.  Within a relatively short period of time, this is increased to 20 minutes, and ultimately the full measure is half an hour, twice a day.

This class prepares participants to embark on this type of exercise by providing peace and rest and increasing sattva in the being.
