How can you custom design, implement and evaluate a high-impact HSE (GED®/HiSET®) instruction that’s best for your adult students and most likely end in success?

The object of this winter workshop series is to help you answer this question. These workshops will challenge you to think critically about your practice and about cultivating an environment that both sets high expectations and is supportive of student success. By discussing and sharing course structure, classroom practices, assessment strategies, test prep skills development and best pedagogical practices, you’ll further develop tools to enhance your students’ ability to prepare for and to pass the HSE (GED®/HiSET®).

In addition to focusing on the subject content matter required to pass the examination, the workshops will focus on proven student support strategies that help adult students persist towards their high school equivalency diploma goal. You will also get the chance to learn about the differences between the GED® and HiSET® exams and how to help learners make the best decision for them.

The two workshops have been scheduled to come after the GED® Mini-Conference and HiSET® Information Sessions to provide opportunities for instructors and tutors to continue to reflect on strategies and best practices. Participants can attend one or both workshops, and are encouraged to bring questions and/or strategies to share at these interactive sessions.
