Tutor Now: GED® / HiSET® Prep provides volunteers with the knowledge, tools, skills, and resources to support adult learners who are working at a 9th grade + level.
Volunteers will learn tactics to help prepare students to take standardized tests like the GED® or HiSET® in order to obtain a Commonwealth Secondary School Diploma.

This training is completed over a three-week period. Part 1 and 3 of the ASE Tutor Training are completed online, where the participants are required to read text material, watch and react to videos, submit blog entries and give feedback to their peers. The online portion is complemented by Part 2 of the training, which is a face-to-face, three-hour, Teaching Strategies workshop, offered on a Thursday evening, May 10th. The Tutor Trainer monitors the participants’ activities and provides feedback as needed.
Completion of all components is required to receive the Office of Education's Certificate of Completion.

* Tutor Now: Fundamentals of Adult Learning is a prerequisite for this training. Volunteers must attend all sessions in order to complete training and receive a certificate

NOTE: The Office of Adult Education reserves the right to cancel a Tutor Training class when the minimum capacity (8) has not been reached.
