Tutor Now: Fundamentals of Adult Learning (Online) provides tutors with a foundation of how to effectively tutor adult learners.

Participants will learn how to use learner-centered tutoring techniques, use assessment to guide instruction, help their learners set achievable goals, create lesson plans, integrate technology in instruction, and document learner progress.

This training will be delivered and facilitated online. You are expected to read text material, watch and react to videos, submit responses to discussion prompts and quizzes, and provide thoughtful feedback to other volunteers in the virtual classroom. A tutor trainer will be available to monitor, facilitate the course, and provide feedback as needed.  You have three weeks to complete this training.

Completion of all components is required to receive the Office of Education's Certificate of Completion.

*Tutor Fundamentals of Adult Learning is a prerequisite for the Tutor Now, GED©/HiSET© Prep Training.

NOTE: The Office of adult Education reserves the right to cancel a Tutor Training class when the minimum capacity (8) has not been reached.
