Creating Flower Impressions
Move your flower pictures beyond records of successful blooms to impressions of color, form and light, using a variety of creative techniques with both cameras and software. Discover what happens with extremely shallow focus, intentional motion blur, and multiple exposures. Challenge yourself at a local greenhouse. Learn ways to take your photographs to a different level of expression with this class. Prerequisite: Familiar with focus, shutter speed, aperture and ISO controls on your camera. A tripod is recommended for the field shoot. Familiarity with photo editing software, such as Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, recommended but not required.

Night & Low Light Photography at the Fair!
Have fun making photographs at the Western Montana Fair. In class before the fair opens, we will explore creative night photography techniques for capturing spinning carnival lights. We will also learn tips and techniques for making photographs in low light conditions such as inside exhibit halls or barns as well as early evening outside. Then we will meet at the fair on two evenings to practice. Students are welcome to spend more time at the fair as their time and budgets allow. We'll wrap up in the classroom by sharing our favorite photos from the event.

Wildflower Photography Workshop
Spend the day making wildflower images with fellow photographers, while exploring new techniques for making landscape images! Beginning with a sunrise shoot, we will spend the first half of the day in the field refining our shooting techniques as we capture the beauty of spring's wildflowers in Missoula. After lunch, we will head to the Lifelong Learning Center to work through a post-processing workflow. This workshop will cover composition, exposure control and a Lightroom/Photoshop post-processing workflow. A basic understanding of your camera is preferred.
