Fun With Magic

If you like Magic it’s even better when you can do it yourself!   Magic is a great ice breaker and can be used to entertain adults and children alike. Use your Fun With Magic skills in the house, at the office or while traveling. This introductory two hour, eight week course will cover: cards, coins, ropes and utilize basic household items. Continuing students will learn new skills.

Gardening, Fruit Tree Care: Stone Fruit, Apples and Pears
It’s no wonder the Santa Clara Valley was once known for its acres of fruit orchards and our mild Mediterranean climate allows us to grow a dazzling variety of tree fruit! 

This course stresses how sustainable gardening practices such as efficient watering methods, integrated pest management and use of organic fertilizers and soil amendments apply to establishing and growing pome fruits (including apples & pears), and stone fruits (including apricots, cherries, peaches, nectarines, and plums.)

Landscaping, Waterwise

Did you know that fall is THE perfect time to establish most waterwise plants in your garden? In this 3-week course, you'll learn about the many beautiful low-water plants that thrive in our mild, Mediterranean climate and how to incorporate them into your landscape. Reduce both your water usage and time maintaining your yard while also creating a vibrant, diverse oasis that attracts birds, bees, and butterflies.

Topics will include creating a design that meets your wants & needs, getting rid of or reducing the size of a lawn, choosing plants that will thrive here in Santa Clara County, and the latest in watering techniques and maintenance for a garden that will last for years to come.

This class is taught by Master Gardeners Santa Clara County.
