Conversational English Intermediate
Practice speaking in a friendly environment under the guidance of the instructor. We will cover grammar, vocabulary, idioms and parts of speech while practicing orally with other students. The dialogues will cover topics in everyday life, including current media and American culture. Speaking with other students will encourage you to speak in English with fluency and more confidence.

Survival English-Beginning to Intermediate
In this class, students will have opportunities to practice common, real-life communication with English speakers in a variety of environments. Conversations will be about the weather, clothes, giving directions, school, transportation and health. Students will learn new vocabulary that will enable them to function in the Silicon Valley. Some of the things they will learn: how to open a bank account and manage and balance a checkbook and pay bills, how to complete a job application and do interviews, practice ordering food at a restaurant and asking for help finding items in a grocery store. The students will learn to use community resources such as the library, post office, and reporting crimes to the local police department. In addition, students will learn a bit about American culture, like sports and other pastimes along with traditional holidays.
